Δημιουργία του κόσμου ( Γέροντας Σωφρόνιος Σαχάρωφ )
Κοιτάξτε το μεγαλειώδες θέαμα που ο Θεός μας φανέρωσε στη δημιουργία του κόσμου, στην κατασκευή του ανθρώπου «κατ' εικόνα και καθ' ομοίωσιν» Του. Εκείνο που αναζητούμε δεν περιορίζεται στη μικρή μας καθημερινή ζωή. Αναζητούμε να είμαστε με τον Θεό και να αποκτήσουμε μέσα μας τη ζωή σε όλο το πλάτος, το κοσμικό και το θείο.

Αυτός που δεν θυμάται και δεν σκέφτεται τον Θεό, κρατάει μίσος κατά του πλησίον. Αντίθετα όποιος θυμάται τον Θεό, δεν μνησικακεί και αγαπάει κάθε άνθρωπο. Όποιος βοηθάει τον αδικούμενο έχει σύμμαχο τον Θεό.

The path of virtue is a path of effort and toil: "Straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it;" whereas the gate of vice is wide and the way spacious, but lead to perdition.

Conscience is the first law of God, which He deeply carved in the hearts of the First Created, and consequently, each one of us takes it as a "photocopy" from his parents when he is born. Those who have managed to sensitize their consciences through the daily study of themselves feel themselves estranged from this world; and, as a result, worldly people are dumfounded by their discerning behavior. Those, however, who do not examine their consciences are neither benefited by spiritual study nor by the advice of the Elders, nor are they even able to keep God’s commandments, since they quickly become insensitive.
